About the offering

ORIENTAL SNATCH is an action-horror-romance-comedy film about the outrageous true story of D.B. Cooper and his infamous 1971 plane heist—the only unsolved plane hijacking in US history. Led by Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, co-creator and star of last year's instant international cult classic HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS (which grossed over $1.3M on a $150k budget), this project represents Tews' third and final film. Despite widespread knowledge of the D.B. Cooper legend, the story has never properly been brought to the big screen until now. Shooting in Brazil with São Paulo's crew of technicians and stuntmen, the film brings together a team of creatives hellbent on delivering pure cinematic joy to genre fans worldwide. The D.B. Cooper Story & Market Opportunity On November 24, 1971, a man using the alias "Dan Cooper" (later misidentified as "D.B. Cooper" by media) hijacked a Boeing 727, extorted $200,000 in ransom, parachuted into the night over the Pacific Northwest, and vanished without a trace. It remains the only unsolved case of air piracy in American aviation history and one of the FBI's most enduring mysteries. Despite decades of fascination and countless documentaries, books, and conspiracy theories, the D.B. Cooper story has never received a proper big-screen treatment. ORIENTAL SNATCH fills this gap by bringing the enigmatic air pirate's tale to life through the lens of action, horror, romance, and comedy—all set in the 1970s with smoking, booze, and outrageous storytelling.
